These terms govern your use of Golden Thread. By using the app, you agree to these terms.

1. What Golden Thread Is

Golden Thread is a private life-timeline app for memories, milestones, people, pets, places, and locations. It is not a backup service, a social network, or a substitute for keeping your own copies of important records.

2. Your Memories Belong to You

You retain ownership of the memories you create in Golden Thread, including notes, photos, dates, tags, people, pets, places, and locations. We do not claim rights to your content, do not display it to other users, and do not use it to train any model.

You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter and for the rights you have to any photos you attach.

3. Keep Your Own Copies

Golden Thread features may change, be removed, or require updates, and software can lose data through bugs, device failures, or other events outside our control. Use the in-app export to save your archive as a .gtarchive file periodically. Do not treat Golden Thread as your only copy of memories that matter to you.

4. iCloud Sync & Data Responsibility

iCloud sync is optional and depends on your Apple ID, your iCloud storage availability, and Apple's CloudKit infrastructure. Sync is a convenience feature, not a guaranteed backup. You are responsible for keeping your Apple ID secure and your device passcode and biometrics private.

5. Plus Purchases

Some Golden Thread features require Plus, which is unlocked by a purchase processed through your Apple ID via the App Store. Billing, renewals (where applicable), cancellations, and refunds are handled by Apple according to Apple's policies.

Purchase status and entitlement are managed in part through a secure third-party service. If a purchase is missing, sign in with the Apple ID that made the purchase and use Restore Purchases inside the app.

6. Privacy & Biometrics

Use of Golden Thread is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Private memories are protected by Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode. Authentication is performed by iOS; Golden Thread only receives a yes-or-no result.

7. Locations & Maps

You can optionally attach a location to a memory by searching, dropping a pin, or accepting a suggested place name. Reverse geocoding and map snapshots use Apple's MapKit services. Golden Thread does not access your device's current location and does not run a location-tracking background process.

8. Acceptable Use

You may not misuse Golden Thread, interfere with app services, attempt unauthorized access, reverse engineer service APIs, or use the app in a way that violates law or the rights of others. Do not store content in Golden Thread that you do not have the right to keep.

9. Intellectual Property

Golden Thread, including its design, code, branding, and app content, is owned by IllaoiDr Technologies LLC or its licensors. The Golden Thread name, icon, and visual identity are not licensed for redistribution or derivative apps.

10. No Warranty

Golden Thread is provided as is and as available. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. Reminders, sync, search, and export may be unavailable from time to time.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, IllaoiDr Technologies LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost data, lost memories, or losses related to reliance on the app. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the app is to stop using it and request a refund through Apple if eligible.

12. Termination

You can stop using Golden Thread at any time by deleting the app from your device. We may suspend or discontinue features, releases, or services as the product evolves.

13. Changes

We may update these terms as Golden Thread changes. When we make material changes, we will update the "last updated" date below. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated terms.
